when researching and writitng a research paper i know how crucial it is to have a good research backing. i usually get my sources from multiple places so i can get more information, more reliable information. i learned my lesson from earlier on in my school years that one or two maybe even three sources wont cut it when it comes to any paper becAuse u need a hefty amount of sources to not only make your paper more reliable but to make any paper easier to write. it helps the paper to flow better. it allows anybody as a writer to have a better lookin, better reliable, better sounding paper. i personally like to have quite a few sources because i like to have a lot to write about. i like to be able to write my paper knowing that it is a solid paper. i know many people who dont use sources or credit sources and they dont have a good grade in English. i also learned my lesson from them as well. i also make sure to credit my sources so that i am careful to avoid plagiarism.because i am very well aware that plagiarism gets you no where but a zero and who wants that. i also make sure to cite my sources pretty well as well because that counts as plagiarism too. i make sure to use mla citation because that's typically how it should be done im any english 1101 or 1102 class. i usually like doing that as well quite frankly because it takes up more space in a paper.

discourse community

discourse communities affect many people because it affects how u grow up and how your life takes its course. i think one of the discourse communities i belong to growing up was the football team we had a common goal inn which we wanted to achieve this was winning, most importantly winning the championship. even though we never won it, we maintained our brotherhood. this was the most important thing in which i encountered as well. another discourse community i belong is being a college student. every college student wants to graduate and be successful and that's the common goal in which we all college students share. i believe the thing that seperates college students apart from each other is the amount of will power some choose to put into their work, just like in life in general. discourse communities are every where, just like at my grocery store job. it was a small community but we all had a job to do and it had to get done by every body cooperating and getting it done together. being in this discourse community also like football taught me the value and essence of teamwork , working together. all my life I've valued teamwork because i learned that there is no I in team. one other discourse community i belong to was my neighborhood. Quite frankly everybody in my neighborhood is family. yet even though we felt as if we were family, alot of people don't make it out, they tend to get stuck because they choose not to do anything with there life. or seems like most people don't want more they just stay in the hood.

 I like to research because it helps me understand a lot about a lot of things. research helps me with research papers a lot of different ways because i can learn about things that will make my paper pop in a sense. research allows me to also stay motivated throughout writing my paper. Sometimes when i write a paper i tend to run out of new ideas but through research i stay motivated because i find out things such as fun facts. the facts in which I put in my paper make my paper a better paper because without the facts my paper would probaly be a lot more boring. I didn't like writing papers when I was younger because I felt that writing papers were boring and it didn't help me as a writer because I felt that I already knew how to write .this was one of the worst mistakes of my life because I realized later on in life that you are never good enough for anything. I realized in the 12 th grade, well towards the end of my senior year that writing is going to require a lot of research beacuse in order to get a good grade on a paper u must know what you are talking about. Thats common sense. I believe every since I have completed English 1101 I am better equipped to write a research paper because I learned how to write a paper and research more effectively. I now know what to reasearch and how to research it in order to get the best results. Towards tye end of the semester i am looking forward to looking doing my end of the year research paper because i know that it will challenge ke but i love a challenge. I dont like to feel that things are just going to be handed to me. I feel like i am in deed going to b challenged in this course. I believe researching should continue to be a main topic in every writing composition class because it is essential to writing a great paper and getting the most out of the facts that you have gained through the researching process. I love writing so therefore i dont have a problem with the researching part. I love the fact that you can make a paper better by looking at information thats gonna turn out to take you towards more information.

i think that the autobiographical writing went well because i didn't encounter that many problems that i couldn't fix on my own. i wrote my essay with multiple people talking. i wrote it as if the characters such as my mom dad and cousin were talking to them selves and of course i included what they thought about me. this aspect of the writing allowed me to expand on my paper. it made my paper longer and more fulfilling, i also included a big peice of my life and a moment that definitely caused me to continue to stay on track with my life and education. i think that My essay is good but i had trouble closing it out. i had trouble finding a way to finish out my ideas without leaving anything out for one and making it seem incomplete. i like these type of essays though because it allows me to be creative. being creative is something i love doing. i hate being kind of restricted to a certain form of writing. i like to feel somewhat free. writing this essay was a fun challenge. i tried to stay as detailed as possible. i believe that this is extremely important considering autobiographical works are filled with detail that makes the work good. without details the writing wouldn't be good at all. in these type of writings u are including key moments in your life so that's why i focused on it a lot. hopefully it is good.

this essay seemed to be pretty easy on paper but it really wasn't was very very challenging i hated working on it in a way because it was making my head hurt. i found the interpretive part of the assignment hard. it was hard keeping on track to. i wrote out all my ideas to so i was thrown off by hard actually was. i loved the film though and i usually don't like documentary because they usually are boring unless it is about sports. i did my usual brainstorming process. when i wrote out my ideas i looked back over them to make sure i had everything down on paper. i also looked up extra facts on Vargas, i found Vargas very interesting simply because of the situation he put himself in. i also looked at myself as what i would do in his situation. i think that's why i liked the about the documentary as well. i also included facts about immigration codes which cause immigrants to have a very hard time getting in the United states. i feel overall i did ok i did try my best though. i feel as though establishing a thesis was difficult because it was hard to pick one. i eventually wrote my thesis on how immigration affected Vargas,which it truly did , it kept him from seeing his mother and everything. that could really mess a person up mentally and the fact that Vargas succeeded is great. he was able to find success through the dim chance that he would find success,which is another reason why i admire Jose Vargas. he never have up and that's what i rreally talked about in this project. it also allowed me to include more detail in my paper which in turn took up space in my paper which is a good thing, a great thing actually. this was where my Paper started to flow when i went back over my brainstorming process soi could include more finer detail. i look forward to ending the year on a great note by getting a grade on this project and the upcoming ones

thoughts in Documentary

i think the documentary is very good it is also well organized and very interesting. i like how it is also an emotional appeal as well because thats my favorite part of the documentary because he hasn't seen his mother in twenty years. i think this documentary has a very special meaning because they're a lot of people who are not from the usa but have been contributing to our society. they are also illegal but that doesn't mean they arent human. this is what the documentary is existing for. Jose wants to draw attention to this important cause cuz he is one of these illegal individuals, i believe that immigration laws can get ridiculous at times. this needs too change quickly because many more people can Contribute to our economy but they can't because their in a line to get in our beautiful country and that line is decades and decades long. why stop all these people from entering if they can work and pay taxes just like we do. i am also taking notes on the documentary so i can write my essay on it. this will help my Paper come along smoothly instead of tryin to remember what happened in my head, bcuz that would just be to hard ..i want to start writing it as soon as we end the documentary. i really wanted to get my thesis correct to. i really liked the part in the documentary when the dreamers were introduced. i believe in equality.that's why i liked them.

I also like how Susan Griffin talked not only about WWII but himmler.  my paper was about how children are Affected by their parents actions. these actions and the way parents raise their children can make Thier children make certain decisions. in himmler case, his whole mission was to always show how tough he was no matter if it meant killing Somebody. i enjoyed reading about him. i really want to read more about him in the future. the project also challenged me to organize my paragraphs better too because susan Griffins writing was so complex i didn't want my ideas to be scattered everywhere throughout my paragraphs because scatterd paragraphs confuse the reader and i didn't want that. next time i think i can work on delivering a better introduction and a better conclusion because introductions are very important to a paper as well as conclusions because it gains the readers attention. conclusions are what u need to work on the most because conclusions sum the whole paper up and i need help doing that because i dont  want to seem to repetitive. i know this would make my paper seem boring and then my grade would in return decrease. i plan on going to the writing center for help on this because i need to get better at this especially if i want to major in journalism, which requires a lot of continuous writing. overall i liked my work even though there is still room for improvement, i feel like there is always room for improvement just like everything in life.

I believe griffin is a great writer. I like the way she disscuses the things in which makes us human such as our secrets. She talks about how all humans have secrets that may link us ttogether. She shifts subjects quite frequently but I think that this is a good thing because it keeps me interested into the story that I am reading. I like when she discussed the issue of equality for women. I like this because I feel that even though I am not a female, this topic reffering to women is sorta kinda swept under the rug. She talks about the contribution that women made to the nation such as WWII, when the men were at war the women had to pick up the slack and produce materials for the US. This is never really talked about, so for her to draw attention to this matter was a very good sight to see, or read rather. She talks about her life as well and I think that this was a good idea to put in her book. When u become personal in your creative piece of writing it is always a good idea simply because it keeps the reader in tune with whats going on in whatever book you are writing. Susan Griffin does an excellent job at capturing this and putting this in her book. I am looking forward to reading more books that she has written. She does a great job at making relations to her on life to make the book better.

Project #1 Analysis

I believe that the project writing went very well. I thnk that it was easy for me to write about the topic becuz I was very interested in the book’s story. I liked the fact that I cud get creative because that’s simply what writing is all about. I want all of the major projects this semester to be as easy to be creatve as this one. I usually brainstorm and that’s exactly what I did this time because it made writing this paper a whole lot easier. I was able to come up with ideas and insert them right where they shud go into my paper. I believe peraonally that my paper was good, better yet great becuz of the relations that I used within the paper. I compared myself to the author’s characters. I did this so that my paper wud make more sense and it will engage whomever chooses to read it. I used my relations to also make my paper flow as well. I also came up with different transitions to use that made my paper flow to. Instead of using transition words in every new paragraph, I used them when I needed to. I learned that from my peer edits. I also like the fact that everyone in the class was able to help each other becuz I know for a fact that I needed help becuz I was kind of stuck writing my paper. I had a lot of peer feedback throughout the two days we used it. The two people that I had to help me were great and they made my writing process go a lot smoother. The feedback helped my paper to become as successful as it did. I wanted to also get very detailed within my paper too. I also got that from my peer review. I learned that not only does a detailed paper get a better grade but it also makes the paper longer in length as well. I think that this is a very important thing to learn in college becuz in college there are classes that want you to write up to 8 pages and it is hard to to do that without details. Overall I feel great about my writing success.

Blogpost#3

The writing process for me is pretty straight forward. I sometimes brainstorm. I mostly brainstorm. It is a very important process to me because it allows all of the creative juices to get to flowing. I have always used brainstorming since like, mhmm ummmm elementary school. I use the bubbles still believe it or not. It definitely works when I am working on something that is stressing me out completely. I then transfer my ideas into another type of organiztizational method. I use roman numerals and subtitles to organize my ideas form my bubble map. I think personally its kinda coo to see all your ideas coming together so easily. It makes the writing process so fun and so relaxing. I like how when I write and use different writing process methods my paper comes out so nice and neat. I then like to come up with my introduction and my conclusions early because these are the main things thts gonna make your paper quote on quote POP! I come up with the body of my creative work last. In a way I work sort of backwards. I think it’s better like this. This way of me writing has gotten me thru a lot tough papers. Papers in which I thought I wouldn’t get thru I did becuz of it. I also elaborate on any data that I came up with and any examples that I came up with. I want to always make sure that my paper is filled with a lot of details and examples becuz that’s also what makes a great paper, and im all for great papers. I also come up with a ton of transition words becuz transition words help a paper run from idea to idea smoothly. I usually list the transition words separately. Then once I finish my entire paper I go bac and look at the words I constanly used throughout the entire paper and I use the dictionary to come up with different words as well as a thesaurus. I love writing and I also love describing what I do to help my paper thrive.

Blogpost#2

I am now a fan of wideman. I would love to read more of his work. I believe the way he writes is so very very veryyyy creative. He is a detailed author and the way he organizes his books makes me want to read more. Basically it intrigues me. I've neva met an author that I would really want to continue to read their material except Langston Hughes, because I really love poetry. But wideman is a very good author and I really truly enjoyed the book. I love the imagery that he provided because it made me feel connected to the book. I feel as if I could feel what wideman's characters were feeling. I like the fact that I could feel connected with the book. I believe that's the point of writing, to make your audience be able to connect with your story.

The way wideman started his book off is what kept me interested. He was so very detailed off the rip. Most books start off slow and boring, but his book didn’t lag a bit. I really loved this about it. I am glad I got a chance to read it. Wideman also chooses his words and sentence structure wisely. This is also what kept me interested as well. His sentences flow easily within his paragraphs of his story. He reminds me of the author mark twain. They both are very detailed and the way their stories are described keeps you intrigued the whole way. I hope to have more works off wideman throughout the year.

Blogpost #1 Due (Relationship with Writing: 350 words)

My relationship with writing is quite simple. I love it. I love to write because it allows me to be myself and to b creative, I love how writing can b used in a million different ways. My favorite way to use writing wud have to be using it to brighten someones day. Some people may be feeling down but yu can use writing to make a poem for instance that will make them smile. Making people smile is something i like to do. My relationship with writing used to b sort of  bad, i hated writing. I feltt as if writing wasn't going to get me anywhere. As I grew older i realized that writing is something that everyone needs to be successful, and that's exactly what I want to be. I use to feel as if writing was boring. It was dull to me. I absolutely hated it with a passion. Its so funny how I have seen my relationship with writing evolve into such a great form of creative expression. writing has helped me come through so much, such as hard times and obstacles that i have gone thru. The first time i remember it helping me  thru a difficult time was when my great grandmother  died, it was such a tough time. I established a journal that i used to get me thru it. Writing makes me feel like im doing  something right everyttime i write. Being creative is also always a good thing. Being creative gives me the ability to look past where i am as a writer now and lets me know that i can always get better in tha future. Thats the great thing about writing.  U can never stop improving on your writing. You can never stay the same. I am constantly  improving on my writing  every single day.
Thats the beauty of writing. To me nothing compares to writing. Nothing is a better outlet than writing. Writing is one of the few things on this entire earth that I can say trufully can change you as a person. It has the ability to make you into a better person. Without writing I wouldn't be who I am today. Writing of course goes hand in hand with reading which is another thing I love to do. Writing is such a good thing to do in general.
